Throughout his five-decade film career John Wayne starred in many Westerns, as well as a number of war movies. He portrayed U.S Marshals, lawmen, gunfighters and cowboys. In his film work he used numerous sidearms including Colt Single Actions and Winchester Model 1892 rifles. He carried a pair of engraved Great Western revolvers in many of his movies, most notably in the film Big Jake. A John Wayne Gun is in the hands of Rooster Cogburn when he runs that Gatling Gun in True Grit.
The Iconic Firearms of John Wayne
John Wayne Guns was a man who lived by the mantra that A Man Oughta Do What He Thinks Is Right. And that’s why we at America Remembers are proud to announce a new line of guns honoring our American movie legend. Our John Wayne Tribute Series revolvers are engraved with classic portraits of the Duke on both sides of a blued mirror finish frame. The cylinder features a close-up of John Wayne looking out at the vast Western landscape with mesas and buttes adorning the background, while the barrel features his famous saying.
Our revolvers are produced by the expert craftsmen at Uberti, who have earned a reputation for quality and accuracy. They have worked on many of our American Classics, and they have been commissioned to create this special tribute for America Remembers. These working replicas are a perfect way to celebrate the life of a legendary American hero.
